degenerating to letter writing to the newspaper

yes, i am a sad, pathetic person. there was an article in the sunday mail ( a really shitty brisbane newspaper) that enraged me to the point of writing a letter. i feel dirty. and wrong. and stinky! (ok, i don't actually feel stinky.)
but, it was a really sick article. the article is here.

and my letter is 110. yes. i'm sorry, but just because some little brat doesn't like gays, doesn't justify front page news. it's repulsive. what about the gay 13 year olds? how the fuck would they feel?

in much much much better news, i have a new Favourite Move Ever.
it is called "the cave of the yellow dog', and everyone, in the whole world, ever, should see it. it was just so beautiful, a documentry with a thin thread of a story running through it, gently acted by the people living in mongolia. i really can't say much more about it, only that it easily my new best friend.
and that knitted bracelet? Third time, still fucking it up. poopies.

Just poppint in to say hi and good for you! That's one letter that was worth writing. I wrote to a TV station once because they were running a "game show" that essentially had people undergoing torture while answering questions. Enough people complained, and it got yanked off the network after only 1 show.

If you change only 1 person's mind, the gay people around that person will feel that much more comfortable. And questioning what the media is doing... priceless, as an annoying US commercial would put it.

It makes you wonder if the situation was that the girl was the only "girl" on the moon and, therefore, the minority, how would she cope and deal with the majority of the people. This situation could be (and has been) stated in a variety of ways with the students having to put themselves in a minority position and learning to deal with tolerance, discrimination, anger, etc.
