i am wondering why it took me so long to get of my bum and actually read some, considering dr matt has been peer-pressuring me to do so for as long as i have known him.
it's like... eating fruit. i eat a lot of fruit. i eat fruit every day, regardless of if it is excellent or not. but sometimes, there is the most perfectly ripe, lush, dense, juicy piece that just crumbles perfectly into your mouth. the juice runs down your arms and makes your elbows sticky. and you just devour it, or savour it, delighting in how wonderful it is. that is what murakami is like.
i read norwegian wood a few days ago, and am now reading 'wind up bird chronicle' -which, i actually enjoy More than 'norwegian wood' - considering how much i loved that, this is saying something. happyface.
i also did my tax, which is remarkable. i have been putting it off for a very long time. i detest doing my tax. it's grotesque. but, once i get it back, half my credit card debt is cleared. whoot whoot whoot! from there, the Saving party can begin, and it is en-rout to sojourn to japan for my teaching english expedition. i am looking into smaller schools first, and investigating different options of getting there and teaching, like the JET program and so on. i want to do my teaching overseas before getting my masters in library science, because that way i get my Travelling and Living in Another Country while Young and Stupid out of the way. then, i can possibly Travel and Work Overseas in a Real Job.
and i had a lovely lovely lazy day yesturday. wandering around new farm park, breakfast at liquid delish, trip out to paddington, over to west end to meet lachlan, coffee at urban grind (best coffee ever. yep. sorry all my other coffee places), then home. i think, no, we went to the valley and got dinner from fat boys. i tried to peer pressure him into staying there to see 'shiver like timber' but that didn't work, owning to the fact he was trying to nudge me into Doing My Tax. which, admittedly, would have taken half the time if i had done it before i had lost all my recipts. but, i called up the charities this morning, got my donation ammount, and Sent it off off and away.......
we are seeing Lots of bands these next few months:

marlinchen next week or so... i think... i was fearing they had dissapeared into the void of New Bands with Creative people Minus Organised and Clearheaded Manager, but thankfully, they have surfaced once more.
and so on. so musically cultured. oh yes indeedy.
in other news, i reorganised the filing cabinet at work into alphabetical order. this is not as fun as one would think. but i still enjoyed it far too much. and, the most exciting thing ever is BEING PAID TO CATALOGUE M's Books! yes! private library cataloguing! this is incredibly cool and exciting! i want to convince them to buy the new york public libraries cataloguing program for me to use, so fingers crossed. this is the Holy Grail of PA work. i am a Good Little Personal Assistant.
